FAQs

How does the VEG achieve enhanced quality graphics?
The VEG utilizes the resolution of the VGA monitor. A VGA monitor can reach resolutions of 1024 x 768 pixels (or even higher for proprietary systems), versus a NTSC TV monitor which only reaches a resolution of 512 x 480 pixels. In other words, you are displaying twice the amount of pixels on the VGA monitor.
What does 3:2 correction do?
Eliminates DVD movie jitter, which occurs when a film (24-frames per second) is transferred to video (60-fields per second). Consecutive film frames are alternately repeated twice and three times on consecutive video fields or frames. If you single step through a DVD recording of a movie, you will often see the three-two-three-two pattern.
How can I view DVD movies on my game console?
For the Sony PlayStation2®, simply put your DVD into the CD/DVD drive and use your game controls to navigate the DVD menus. You may also purchase the optional remote control option. For Microsoft Xbox® users, you need to purchase the Xbox remote control option from your local Xbox retailer. The Nintendo GameCube® currently does not offer CD/DVD capabilities. But this does not mean you cannot watch DVDs. By hooking up a DVD/VCR player to the VEG, you can watch movies or play games in enhanced resolution.
Will the VEG work with any monitor?
The VEG will work with VGA and SVGA, which has a 15-pin input connector. The VEG might not work with monitors from proprietary UNIX systems. We have also found some monitors with the VGA cable attached with a female connector which may need a conversion adaptor (male-to-male) or an additional VGA cable that goes male-to-male.
Can I also hook the VEG up to my computer?
Yes. Simply hook the VEG from your computer to the 15-pin RGB Input and use the RTV supplied VGA cable. Then connect the RGB 15-pin output to your monitor.
Can I view all TV channels that my current TV is capable of?
Depending on what your current cable subscription, yes. You may be missing channels if your current cable subscription requires an additional set-top box from your cable subscriber for all available channels.
Can I watch TV and work on my computer at the same time?
With the VEG-N, you can!
Can I hook up my digital still and video camera to the VEG?
Yes. Simply connect via the S-Video or RCA A/V cable connectors on the back of the VEG and view your images on your monitor.
